I created “galaxy” images, with a digital camera and Photoshop, that resemble space imagery. I photographed everyday materials such as sugar, dirt, my own feet, clouds, and so on to attain the textures and shapes I desired then mimicked the labeling and descriptive methods used by NASA for the final presentation. Each “galaxy” image was printed on translucent material (transparency film and vellum) and displayed in a lightbox.
